If you don’t, the fastest identification is a quick look at the bottom edge of the door: a T-channel has a visible slot the seal slides into from one end, while a bead channel looks like a pair of parallel rails the seal snaps into from below. Genie’s T-style channel is typically 1/4-inch wide at the opening, and the bead channel runs right around 5/16-inch. It’s a small difference that causes a lot of incorrectly ordered parts. Signs Your Genie Weather Seal Replacement Is Failing

• A visible gap of light under the door, often uneven. The seal has compressed, warped, or torn at one end. In Phoenix, the failure usually starts at the outermost corners where the slab shifts most over the seasons and the rubber takes the worst of the heat.
